Situated ten minutes out of Cambridge Wentwood Grange is a boutique stud farm that specialises in preparing yearlings for sale and offers a quality of life for foals, broodmare and yearlings alike. Owned by the Hawkins family they are committed to establishing a small band of quality broodmares while agisting a limited number of outside horses.

Being very family orientated Wentwood Grange takes pride in developing foals, yearlings and broodmares.

The yearling farm is located across State Highway 1 from the broodmares and foals facility and contains 45 yearling yards. Wentwood Grange has undulating terrain and good pastures making it ideal for developing young muscles.

Another farm, situated on Mangatautari Road, takes the farms total acreage to 166 hectares (410 acres). This farm is being used to accommodate mares and spellers. Previously a deer farm this land is perfect for horses with numerous trees for shade and backing onto the Waikato River it boasts desirable mineral rich pastures.

Graduating from this stock are many mares and colts that the Wentwood Grange family are rightfully proud of. Many of these bred at the stud have gone on to win some of New Zealand’s top races.
